This course defines diversity and examines how biases and stereotypes can lead to discrimination in the workplace.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Understand the meaning, related terms and history of diversity
• Describe the meaning of stereotypes and biases, how they develop and the reasons for your own perspectives which can create barriers to embracing diversity
• List strategies for overcoming diversity barriers for yourself, in the workplace and in social communities 
• Recognize how diversity and discrimination can overlap and the resulting discriminatory beliefs and behaviors
